The Shanghai Cancer Institute was founded in 1958, and has been recognized by the World Health Organization as one of three collaborating centers in China for cancer research since 1980. In 1985, the National Key Laboratory on Oncogenes and Related Genes (NLORG) was identified by the Chinese National Committee on Science and Technology.

The year 2008 is the 50th Anniversary of the Shanghai Cancer Institute. So we are very pleased to announce the schedule of 50th anniversary celebration. The ceremony will be on December 22, 2008 from 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm in the institute, in conjunction with a short symposium on cancer research. We are cordially inviting you to attend the 50th anniversary ceremony of our institute in Shanghai. We do believe that it will be a great time to strengthen our partnership, as well as to gather with true friends domestic and abroad.
